Located in Tanunda's former Post & Telegraph building built in 1865, the museum is run by volunteers of the Barossa Valley Archives & Historical Trust and specialises in the German heritage of the area. Tanunda's former Post & Telegraph building was purchased in 1972 by the Barossa Valley Archives and Historical Trust to be operated as a folk museum after local representation saved it from being demolished. More photographs of the museum can be seen here
