Community Museums Program (CMP) Handbook

You are here

The CMP Handbook is a handy reference resource for small museums and other collecting organisations. Based on the National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries (NSAMG), the CMP Handbook is full of practical advice and information.  It is also useful for organisations looking for examples of how to demonstrate how they meet the NSAMG. For museums in South Australia, the CMP Handbook sets out the guidelines (standards) for museum registration and accreditation in History SA's Community Museums Program (CMP) and provides practical information about meeting those guidelines. The CMP Handbook is the essential resource for both existing CMP registered and accredited museums and museums that are working towards registration and accreditation. A list of currently registered and accredited museums is available on the CMP Grants page under resources.  Museums seeking registration or accreditation should contact History SA's community history officers before commencing an application.
