Since 2009 Clara Stockigt has been working on her PhD in linguistics at the University of Adelaide covering the language work of Lutheran missionaries from Dresden to Hermannsburg: Kaurna, Ngarrindjeri, Barngarla, Dieri and Aranda. Last year Clara curated a very successful exhibition on this subject in the Barr Smith Library, and her presentation will include images from that exhibition.
Clara was the recipient of the 2010 Bill Cowan Barr Smith Library Fellow award. Her research topic is an interpretation and critique of the pioneering work of T.G.H. Strehlow in the field of indigenous Australian languages.
