Millicent Museum receives funding for new exhibition

History SA grant money is making it possible for the Millicent Living History Museum to present an exhibition about the impact of the Railway on rural communities in May. The Exhibition, entitled 'Whistle Stop' will be a part of the activities during the About Time History Festival in May this year.

The grant money was presented to current committee chairman David Botting by Mitch Williams MP, State Member for MacKillop, in front of the Museum's permanent train display.

Although the exhibition will present historical information about the founding and development of the rail system in remote South Australia, its main aim is to examine the impact a daily train service had on the residents and civic development of communities, specifically in the Limestone Coast area.
