Guided Tour

Sunday 7 May 2017, 10 am - 4 pm

On Sunday May 7th, from 10am – 4pm as part of the History Month in South Australia, the Brinkworth History Group members will answer that question.

  • A free shuttle bus will run every hour from 10.30am visiting the town sites relevant to the George Brinkworth family. Guides will explain the contribution and legacy of this family to the community. A tour booklet tells their story.
  • In the museum building an exhibition tells the remarkable story of George’s father and mother, brothers and sisters who from the 1840’s - 1880’s opened up land for agriculture  in areas from Port Adelaide to Quorn in the rapid push North.
  • The display of old agricultural machinery in the museum grounds will enable you to recognise the literally ground breaking work of our early pioneers in the local area.
  • Following the May 7th event the museum display will be opened for viewing by appointment only throughout May.
